Wedding Venue Hunting!

Our hunt for wedding venue has officially started...

1. Balay Indang
Location: Indang, Cavite
Budget: 750php - 950php per head
free use of venue, 10% service charge, electricity charge, corkage on some items

We went to their place to personally see the garden venue because it is on our shortlist but we were disappointed. We felt neglected, the woman who seems to be a manager or supervisor is not accommodating (this is based on our experience).
The garden which seems so lovely in the photos from blogs appears to be bare and I didn't have the this is it feeling while I was there.

For full details of their wedding package, you may contact:

Things in this world are not definite...only God is!

On my previous post "The Wedding Date" I mentioned that we have decided the date of our wedding. I also mentioned that choosing a date is really important in planning because this is what you will give to suppliers when you are looking for venues, caterer, etc. Well guess what...our supposed wedding date has been changed and moved to months earlier which is a good thing since I can't wait to be with him every single day!

Actually what really triggered the change of date is some career related stuff. Of course we will not let our work be the reason for our wedding to be postponed so instead, we've decided to move the date to months earlier and I'm happy about it ^__^

What I learned from here is that things in this world are not definite..only God is. Even if you have plans, sometimes you have to make some adjustment. It might upset you but remember that there is no need to worry because God is in control.

I was so happy that God blessed me with a man who can always keep his calm. While I was so worried and becoming uptight, he always find a way to make things better.

Food Tasting: Ma Del's Cuisine

We are now in search for a caterer for our wedding. We want our guests to have a happy tummy during our wedding without us being broke afterwards, heheh.
Obviously our motto when looking for our supplier is: "affordability without sacrificing the quality"

We came accross MaDels cuisine while browsing GT. We inquired and asked for their rate and last Oct31 we were invited to come to their home office in Pasig for food tasting.
Below is the list of food they served:

1. Chicken Empanaditas (appetizer):
Verdict: yummy! Crispy crust even if it is not hot anymore.

2. Potato&ham croquette (appetizer)
Verdict: looks inviting but I didnt quite like it, for me it's a little bland

3. Seafood Marinara
Verdict: so delicious! With generous servings of shrimps in tasty red sauce!

4. Fetuccini Italiana
Verdict: I love it too just like the Seafood Marinara. This one is in creamy white sauce.

5. Ham and Veggie Omelette:
Verdict: Nothing special, just your ordinary omelette.

6. Chopsuey with Quail Egg
Verdict: It doesn't look inviting. Veggies are crunchy, which I like but the taste of the sauce is too strong for me.

7. Roast Beef with Mushroom & Gravy Sauce
Verdict: Yummy! Beef is cooked well and the sauce is just right. I liked it!

8. Beef Burgundy
Verdict: I'm not a fan of sweet dishes so I'm not the best person to judge this one.

9. Chicken Teriyaki
Verdict: Again, I'm not a fan of sweet dishes so I'm not the best person to judge this one.

10. Chicken Flambe
Verdict: Yummy! I liked it! I like the sauce and the chicken meat is cooked just right.

11. Hawaiian Fish Fillet
Verdict: I love love love it! This is their version of sweet & sour fish. It is really delicious!

12. Shrimp Tempura
Verdict: Yummy.

I was actually looking forward to taste the buko pandan jello but it wasn't served heheh maybe next time if we were to choose them as our caterer then we can have our next round of food tasting.

Conclusion: We liked their food plus their rate is also affordable.
Budget Range: 475php to 710php per head minimum of 100 pax with freebies!
Another plus points for Ma Dels: Known for fabulous customizable set ups, included in the package!
Ms Anj, the manager is also very friendly and accomodating although it is hard to reach her though SMS b'coz of her busy sched but you can call her though their landline.

If you need their full detail wedding package rates, you may contact them through the following contact details or drop a comment below and I'll send it to you :) cheers!

Wedding Photographer and Videographer

From my previous post, I mentioned that I attended a wedding fair in MOA. And from there we were able to book our first supplier for our big day! The STUDIO1! We decided to book them that day because of the discounts and freebies that they are offering exclusive for the wedding fair... of course we did some online research first about their portfolio and reputation but do you think we're impulsive??? Hahah! We were so excited and since it's only 1000php to reserve/book then we went ahead and booked them on the spot!

After the wedding fair, we still continued searching for photographer and videographer even we're already booked with Studio1. Who knows, we might find someone else with better offer and as good as Studio1.

As of now, our heart still goes with Studio1 because of their beautiful works and the nice package we got from them. Our package includes the following:

Why should you attend Wedding Fair/Expo?

Last Sunday, October 25, 2015, we attended the Wedding Fair Philippines in MOA (we meaning I was there physically and he was virtually there with me through skype since he is currently in US ^__^)

It was a great experience and I would recommend every engaged couple to attend these kind of gatherings!

Below are just some of the reasons why you should go to wedding fairs/expo:

1. It's FREE! Everyone loves free! Most wedding fairs/expo offers free entrance as long as you register ONLINE. For walk ins, some will have entrance fee of 100php, some are still free.

2. The fun & excitement! It was a great experience for us. We had so much fun, the feeling was like you attended a festival... it was like a wedding festival! Each booth was well-decorated. There are freebies everywhere, like food samples, make-up trials, even free shampoos.

3. Meet new/different wedding suppliers. There are tons of them in different categories for your wedding needs.

4. Save money through Event Promos! During Wedding fairs/expo, suppliers will offer you different types of event promos! Some will give big discounts from their original rates and some comes with a lot of freebies from their original packages. You just have to make sure that you know them well before you book them! Dont get too much excited about their offers. Even during the expo, use your pocket wifi or data to research about the supplier for their works/reputations based on the reviews of their previous clients.

5. Get some ideas for your big day!

6. Raffles! There are raffles given during this event. Just look for the mechanics to join!

Please share with us your experience in wedding fairs and expo by leaving a comment below ;)

Cheers!

The Wedding Date

So we tried browsing for garden wedding venue and emailed some of them...most of their replies would ask us for the exact date of our wedding which we have not yet decided. What we have initially are only target months, that is between December 2016 to March 2017. But because we think it is needed when we search for our venue, we started to discuss about our Wedding Date and we have already decided. Our target Wedding Date will be on... for now, we'll keep it between the two us ;)

The Wedding Journal

...because we wanted to have something that we can go back to in the future, we decided to have our very own wedding journal.

It will contain all the memories about the planning and preparation for the wedding...

This blog is actually a wedding journal already but aside from this we wanted to have something tangible so we went to the mall in search for a notebook. We went to National Bookstore and there are a lot of choices, from cheap to expensive, from chick to formal. After few minutes we've found the right one for us...meet our very own wedding journal for only ~150php. We also bought a pen that we will be using with it for only 7.50php! The brand is Titus Fine, it writes smoothly and ofcourse the ink color is pink!

Immediately after buying the journal, we started using it!
Guess what we first wrote as part of our wedding plan...

taddaaa! The guest list... we decided to write down first all our families/relatives/friends and later on decide who are the people that will be on the non negotiable list, meaning they have to be on our wedding.

For couples out there who are planning for their wedding, I think keeping a wedding journal as one of your memorabilia is a great idea ;)
